Every kit comes in several tube brands at different prices. JJ is the dependable value pick and our most popular. RUBY is our own house brand. Preamp tubes (12AX7, 12AT7, etc.) never need biasing. New power tubes in a fixed-bias amp, which includes most Fender, Marshall and Mesa amps, should get a bias check from an amp tech. Cathode-biased amps, like many EL84 amps including the Vox AC15 and AC30, don't need one.
